UX agency Wrocław

Product decisions are made faster around one table

Squares is a design and delivery company from Wrocław. Since 2017 we have designed and built digital products for B2B and SaaS companies: from the UX/UI audit, through interface design, to delivery and care. The office is in Concordia Design on Wyspa Słodowa.

Who it's for

Where the work starts in Wrocław

The conversation happens when the product is already live and every next decision costs more than the last one.

  • 01

The product grew without a designer

Features were added by developers, each in their own way. A new user gets lost after a few screens, and support keeps answering the same questions.

  • 02

The redesign is waiting for a justification

The board asks what exactly the new interface will change. The team’s opinion is not enough: an outside assessment and a list of priorities are needed.

  • 03

There is a design, but no delivery

The mock-ups are ready, but nobody is responsible for whether they can be built within the planned budget and deadline.

In each of these situations the first step is a diagnosis, and the estimate for the whole project comes after it. The UX/UI audit has fixed packages from PLN 4,500 and the smallest takes a week. We discuss its result at a meeting in the office or online.

Services

A wider scope than a UX agency: from diagnosis to maintenance

Four groups of services match the successive stages of work on a product. Each service is ordered separately, with a stated scope and a price or billing model.

01

Advisory & strategy

A diagnosis of the product and the decisions that are made before the budget goes into delivery.

02

Design

We design products that solve the right problem and test them before they are built.

03

Delivery & team

We take the design to a working product and strengthen the client's team.

04

Maintenance & optimisation

Ongoing care for the product after launch: data, stability and quality over time.

How we work

From diagnosis to a working product

We work in stages. After each one, the decision about the next step belongs to the client team.

  1. 01

    Diagnosis

We talk to the team and to users and look at the data. Outcome: a list of problems ranked by impact on users and the business.

  2. 02

    Design

We choose one direction and design it to prototype level. Outcome: a design that can be tested with users before it is built.

  3. 03

    Development

We build what we designed, in short cycles with a weekly review. Outcome: a working product.

  4. 04

    Optimisation

We measure how people use the product and improve it after launch. Outcome: the next version, based on data from the previous one.

After launch we go back to research, so each new version starts from what the previous one taught us.

Why Squares

What sets this way of working apart

  • 01

One team from diagnosis to delivery

One team leads the diagnosis, the design and the delivery. Product knowledge is not lost in handovers between contractors.

  • 02

    Prices known before the decision

The audit comes in three fixed packages from PLN 4,500. The other services have a stated price range or a described billing model.

  • 03

    A decision after every stage

Every stage has its own scope, deadline and result. After each one the client team decides whether and how to continue.

  • 04

    Confidentiality and regulated sectors

Part of our work is done under NDA, for international organisations and in the medical sector. We sign a non-disclosure agreement before the first conversation about product details.

Wrocław

An office on Wyspa Słodowa, meetings by appointment

We work in Concordia Design at Wyspa Słodowa 7, in the centre of Wrocław. We meet on site for a first conversation, a workshop or a review of audit results. The date is agreed in advance, by email or phone.

For companies from Wrocław and Lower Silesia proximity gives one simple thing: the team workshop, user research and prototype review happen face to face, with no trip to organise. The rest of the work runs remotely, in a steady rhythm of meetings.

Squares has been operating since 2017, has a 5.0 rating on Google and is an official partner of Hotjar, a tool for analysing user behaviour.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How much does working with a UX agency in Wrocław cost?

The UX/UI audit comes in three fixed packages from PLN 4,500. Work billed by the hour costs PLN 250 net per hour. Design and delivery are priced after a conversation about scope, stage by stage. Location does not change the price: rates are the same for companies in and outside Wrocław.

How does a UX agency differ from a design and delivery company?

A UX agency usually finishes its work at the interface design and hands it over to another contractor. A design and delivery company takes the product further: it builds, launches and maintains it. Squares works in the second model, so the design takes the cost and method of building it into account from the start.

Is it possible to meet in the Wrocław office?

Yes. The office is in Concordia Design, Wyspa Słodowa 7, and is open Monday to Friday, 08:00-17:00. Meetings take place by prior appointment, so that the people who will work on the project are there. We also hold the first conversation online.

How does the cooperation start?

With a conversation. After it we propose the first stage: a UX/UI audit or a product workshop. The stage ends with a prioritised recommendation. The decision about the next step is made only then, based on a result rather than a promise.

Does Squares work only for companies from Wrocław?

No. We run projects for companies across Poland, Europe and the USA, mostly remotely. Wrocław is where the team works and where it is possible to sit down together over the product. For companies in the region this makes on-site workshops and research easier.

Does the UX audit cover accessibility and WCAG?

Yes. The UX/UI audit covers user journeys, interface consistency and accessibility according to WCAG, the international accessibility standard for websites and applications. The result is a report with issues ordered by their impact on users and the business, plus a recommendation on what to fix first.

Do you sign an NDA before talking about the project?

Yes. We sign a non-disclosure agreement before the first conversation about product details. Part of our work is done under NDA for international organisations and in the medical sector, which is why not all projects are visible on the website. We say as much about such projects as the agreement allows.
