UX/UI design

A design mistake costs least before the build

Design settles what the team will build before the build budget is spent. We design UX/UI for apps, B2B systems and SaaS, from understanding users to an interface that can be estimated and built.

When is UX/UI design worth outsourcing?

The company is building a new product or adding a large module to an existing one.

The interface has drifted after years of development and every new feature takes longer.

The team is planning a redesign that will have to be justified to the board, so it is worth grounding it in more than the team's opinion.

In each of these situations a fix is cheapest while the product exists only as a design.

Who is UX/UI design for?

  • The company is developing an app, a dashboard or an internal system and new features no longer fit together
  • A Product Owner, head of product or development director needs a design that can be estimated and built
  • The product operates in medtech or healthcare, where usability and accessibility (WCAG) are critical

How it works

How does UX/UI design work step by step?

  1. 01

    Understanding

We establish with the team who uses the product, why and in what conditions, and which business goal the design has to meet.

  2. 02

    Structure

We design the information architecture, user flows and wireframes that can be tested with users before any visual work.

  3. 03

    Interface

We design the screens, components and rules that keep the product consistent and clear throughout.

  4. 04

    Handover

We hand over the design with behaviours and states described, ready to estimate and build, and answer the developers' questions.

The result is a design ready to build: consistent, grounded in user needs and the business goal, with behaviours described so the developers know what to do.

How much does UX/UI design cost?

PLN 250 net/h

Work billed by time costs PLN 250 net per hour. Smaller projects are priced up front for a fixed scope. Larger ones are billed monthly for the time actually worked. We provide the quote after a conversation about scope, before any commitment.

The conversation about the scope of the project and the initial estimate carry no obligation. We split the project into stages, and after each one the team decides whether we continue. A reply to an enquiry arrives within a few hours.

Let's talk about the product

„A great collaboration for over 2 years. The team is professional, punctual and genuinely committed to the development of the project. The app is polished and the communication is excellent. Highly recommended.”

Work

How it works in practice

Why Squares

We combine interface design with thinking about the product and the cost of building it. The design goes into the build with behaviours described, so it can be estimated and built without guesswork. The same team leads the work from the first user conversations to handover, as with the websites of four NoHo Group brands and the dermatoscope app, which we began with workshops with dermatologists and cosmetologists.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What does UX/UI design involve?

UX/UI design means planning how a digital product works and looks before any code is written. UX covers information architecture, user journeys and wireframes; UI covers screens, components and consistency rules. Squares designs apps, B2B systems and SaaS this way: from understanding the user to an interface that can be estimated and built.

How much does UX/UI design cost?

The cost of UX/UI design depends on scope: a smaller project has a fixed price for an agreed scope, a larger one is billed monthly for the time worked at PLN 250 net per hour. We provide the quote after a conversation about scope, before any commitment. The project is split into stages, and after each one the team decides on the next.

How long does it take to design an app?

The time it takes to design an app depends on the number of screens and on whether the project starts with research. We provide a schedule with dates for each stage together with the quote, after the first conversation about the product. The work has four stages: understanding, structure, interface and handover. Wireframes from the structure stage can be tested with users before visual work begins.

What does a UX/UI design handed over for development contain?

A design handed over for development contains screens, components and consistency rules, plus a description of interface behaviours and states. Developers estimate and build the product from it without guesswork. The earlier stages leave the information architecture, user journeys and wireframes. After handover we answer the delivery team's questions.

When is a UX/UI design needed, and when is an audit enough?

A UX/UI design is needed when a new product or a major module is being built, when the interface has drifted apart after years of development, or when a redesign is coming. When it is not yet clear what needs changing in an existing product, the first step is a UX/UI audit, from PLN 4,500 net. The audit sets the priorities and the design delivers them.

How is UX/UI design different from a Design system?

UX/UI design produces the design of a specific product, while a Design system produces a library of components and rules that later projects draw on. UX/UI design answers how this particular app should work. A Design system, priced from PLN 12,000 net, stops the cost of repeating the same elements when several teams work on one product.

Does a UX/UI design account for accessibility (WCAG)?

Yes, we design to WCAG. The European Accessibility Act has been enforced since June 2025 and applies to every industry, and in medtech and B2B accessibility is often a buyer requirement as well. In medical and healthcare products we treat usability and accessibility as critical requirements.

Does Squares also handle the build?

Yes, the same team builds and launches the product, so the design does not have to be explained again to another contractor. For NoHo Group we designed and built the websites of four restaurant brands on shared wireframes and components. The design can also be handed to in-house developers: the description of behaviours and states is prepared for estimating and building.

What does UX/UI design require from the client's team?

The client's team needs to bring knowledge of who uses the product, why and in what conditions, plus the business goal of the project. We establish this in the first stage. After each stage a decision is needed on whether the project continues, and at handover we need contact with the developers, whose questions we answer.

Can a UX/UI project be run remotely, with an NDA and a framework agreement?

Yes, we run UX/UI projects remotely, for companies in Poland and abroad, with regular progress reviews. A light NDA is signed before the first paid stage. The framework agreement sets fixed terms, and further design stages, and later Development, are ordered separately without renegotiating everything.
