Case study
Ranking-oczyszczaczy.pl: a product ranking and comparison platform
The client had its own device tests and reviews, but needed a platform that could carry a growing catalogue. We designed, built and since 2022 have been developing a product ranking and comparison platform that has grown from one category to eight and covers several thousand products.

ongoing partnership: platform development
For Ranking-oczyszczaczy.pl, we designed, built and continue to develop a platform with independent rankings, reviews and comparisons of home appliances. It started with air purifiers; today the service covers eight main categories.

- Eight main product categories
- Several thousand products in the catalogue
- Rankings calculated with the client's methodology: capabilities and value for money
- Criteria weights changed without developers
- Reviews and buying guides linked to rankings
- Working together since 2022: the platform is under continuous development
We turned a ranking list into a knowledge base: data, reviews and tools that lead to a choice.

Goals
01
The first stop before buying
Build a place consumers check before they decide, because they find impartial, data-driven rankings there.
02
A catalogue that grows
Give the client a platform for managing a growing number of products and categories without losing performance.
03
Technical data people understand
Present device parameters in a way consumers understand, and highlight the client's expertise.
Process

What we delivered
A platform that combines data-driven rankings, selection tools and in-depth expert content.
- Data structure - a model that handles several thousand products in eight main categories.
- Ranking engine - each product's score calculated with the client's methodology: parameters and value for money.
- Criteria management - the product owner changes criteria weights on their own, without code.
- Selection tools - a "Match to your room" floor-area filter, sortable tables and expandable specifications.
- Content system - reviews with photos, pros and cons and test results, plus buying guides linked to the rankings.
Challenge: a growing catalogue and a data-based ranking
The client had strong know-how: their own device tests and expert reviews. They needed a platform to manage a growing catalogue and provide a consistent, convenient user experience.
The service started with a single category and was set to expand into more. Its audience is consumers, so technical data had to be presented clearly, and complex comparison mechanisms couldn't get in the way of using the site.
The ranking had to be impartial and data-driven in every category, however the methodology might change.
Solution: a ranking calculated from the client's criteria
The platform calculates each product's position from the client's criteria on its own, in the same way across all categories.
The mechanism runs server-side and is built so criteria weights can be changed without a developer. Users can narrow the list to their own case, for example by entering the floor area of a room, sort tables by chosen features and expand detailed specifications.
From ranking to review
Every product in a ranking leads to a full review, and buying guides link back to the rankings. The client's team publishes this content on its own in a dedicated content management system.

Results: from one category to eight
The service grew from one category to eight, and from a ranking list into a knowledge base with several thousand products.
The platform grew without losing performance, and we add new categories and features without rebuilding, because the architecture was designed for growth from the start. We have been working together since 2022: after the initial launch, we keep shipping improvements based on user feedback.
