UX packages
A peak in design work does not call for a new hire
When the team is short of design capacity and a full-time hire is not an option, planned work slips. An experienced UX/UI designer joins the team's rhythm on a package of 20, 40 or 80 hours a month and helps deliver it.

When is a UX package worth it?
The product team has a peak in workload and is short of design capacity.
It needs support for a set period, without recruiting or the cost of a full-time hire.
A Product Owner who answers to the management board for the product budget buys a specific number of hours and can change it every month.
Who are UX packages for?
- The work is planned and the team is short of hands for UX/UI design
- Projects have piled up at the same time and the Product Owner or Head of Product needs support for that period
- The company wants to increase and reduce design capacity from month to month
How it works
How does a UX package work step by step?
01
We define the needs
We agree the scope of work, the skills required and the way of working with the client's team.
02
We match the support
We match a designer and an hour package: 20, 40 or 80 hours a month.
03
We join the team
The designer works in the client team's tools, meetings and process.
04
We scale
We change the package from month to month, up or down, in step with the amount of work.
The team gains an experienced designer for as many hours as it needs, without recruiting or the cost of a full-time hire.
How much do UX packages cost?
from PLN 5,000 net
UX packages are a fixed bundle of design hours to use within a month. When the hours run out, another bundle can be bought. This is a different model from a Fractional product lead: there the company buys a role and a steady working rhythm, not a cap on hours.
We start with a call about the scope of work, and working together needs no long contract up front. We change the number of hours from month to month. We answer messages within a few hours.

Work
How it works in practice
Air purifier ranking: steady work on one product
We have been developing the platform in an ongoing engagement since 2022, adding categories and filters without rebuilding the site. The scope also includes the build, not a design package alone.

Daily Effect: an app developed since 2023
Since launch we have kept adding features, and new views are built from the same components. It shows a steady, multi-year engagement rather than a separate case study of an hour package.

Air-com: two linked projects for one client
We designed and built a knowledge base on automation and pneumatics and a careers portal: two sites for the same industry audience.

Why Squares
The designer who joins the team knows B2B product work and quickly gets to know the product and the team. Squares is responsible for quality, and in the 40h and 80h packages the team has a named point of contact.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
How much do UX packages cost?
UX packages cost from PLN 5,000 net for 20 hours, from PLN 10,000 net for 40 hours and from PLN 20,000 net for 80 hours a month, which is PLN 250 net per hour. Billing is monthly. When the hours run out, another bundle can be bought, and we choose the right option on a call.
What is UX outsourcing and when does it pay off?
UX outsourcing means handing design work to an external designer who joins the team for a set number of hours. It pays off when the work is planned, the team is short of design capacity and a full-time hire is not an option. With UX packages the company buys 20, 40 or 80 hours a month, with no recruitment and no cost of a full-time role.
How are UX packages different from a Fractional product lead?
UX packages are a pre-purchased bundle of design hours: extra delivery capacity when the team is short of it. A Fractional product lead is a role: one person takes responsibility for the product's direction in a steady monthly rhythm and is not billed against an hours cap. Packages are bought for execution, a Fractional product lead for decisions and direction.
What does a UX/UI hours package include?
Every package includes an experienced UX/UI designer working in the client team's tools and process, regular meetings with the product and design team, and the option to change the number of hours. The 40h and 80h packages add a named point of contact on the Squares side, and the 80h package includes more than one designer.
Which package to choose: 20, 40 or 80 hours?
The 20h package suits a short spike and a single workstream. The 40h package, the recommended one, gives steady support on products in flight. The 80h package handles a large scope or several parallel workstreams and includes more than one designer. The choice is not binding for long: the package changes from month to month, up or down.
How quickly can a UX designer join the team?
The start date is agreed on the first call, together with the scope of work, the skills needed and the way of working. It depends on the availability of a designer with the skills the product requires. No long contract is needed up front, so once the scope is agreed, choosing the hours package is enough.
Does the designer work in the client team's tools?
Yes. The designer joins the process, meetings and tools the team already uses, so nothing needs to change on the client's side. The team provides access to those tools, invitations to product and design meetings, and the scope of work planned for the month.
Can the designer work remotely with a team abroad?
Yes. Work in a package is remote, in the client team's tools and meetings, so the company's location does not matter. Squares works with teams in Poland and abroad, including the Danish NoHo Group. Progress is visible in regular meetings with the product and design team.
Does an hours package require a long contract?
No. Working together needs no long contract up front, and the number of hours changes monthly. A light NDA is signed before the designer gets access to the team's tools and materials. A framework agreement sets the fixed terms, and each monthly package is ordered separately under it.
