Daily Effect: a training and diet app for personal trainers
Daily Effect trainers ran their clients through PDFs, messaging apps and spreadsheets, which stopped working as the community grew. We designed and built a Flutter training and diet app with a meal plan, training plan, measurements and community. We have been developing it since 2023.

Process
What we delivered
An app that guides clients through the whole day: from the meal plan, through the workout, to a progress summary.
- Diet - a system that calculates daily calories and macronutrients, builds a meal plan from over 120 recipes and generates a shopping list.
- Training - a plan matched to fitness level, several hundred workouts and over 500 exercises with instructional videos.
- Progress - weekly weight and body measurements on charts, photo comparisons and points for daily activities.
- Community - a private group with posts, comments, challenges and competitions, where the coaches answer questions.
- Habits and knowledge - a habit calendar, morning messages from the coach, an evening reflection and educational videos.
- Design system - components and themes: light and dark mode plus two colour variants that are easy to switch.
Challenge: clients managed in PDFs and spreadsheets
Daily Effect is the brand of coaches Marsi and Simonte, who have built a large, loyal community. They coached their clients with PDF plans, messages on messaging apps and spreadsheets.
As they grew, this model stopped being enough. The coaches picked meals and exercises individually, so the service couldn't scale quickly, and tracking progress was difficult. Clients wanted everything to hand on their phones.
The task was twofold: a product that is engaging and simple day to day, while keeping a personal coaching approach at scale.

Solution: daily plan, diet and training in one app
The app answers one question: what do I need to do today to stick to the plan.
Diet and training are arranged automatically based on the goal and fitness level. Points for daily activities, the habit calendar and the private community reinforce consistency. The coaches see the discussions, answer questions and can adjust individual plans, so the personal contact with clients remains.
Design system and themes
We built the interface from components based on variables. As a result, the app works in light and dark mode and in two colour versions, new views are built from the same elements, and visual changes are made in one place.

Results: one tool for trainers and their clients
The coaches guide their clients in one tool, and clients have their daily plan, progress and community on their phones.
We have been working together since 2023. Since launch, we have been adding new features and looking after maintenance, and the component-based design system shortens the time it takes to ship changes.

„A great collaboration for over 2 years. The team is professional, punctual and genuinely committed to the development of the project. The app is polished and the communication is excellent. Highly recommended.”
Clients coached through files and messages? That can become a product.
We start with a workshop where we agree the scope of the first version.
