Consulting

An hour's talk costs less than a month in the wrong direction

A decision about technology, a supplier or a redesign direction is easier to verify before the build than after it. A consultation gives a second opinion on a product, a design or a technical decision without starting a big project.

When is a consultation worth it?

The team wants to check a decision with someone from outside. A design needs reviewing before it goes into development.

A quick opinion is what counts, without involving the whole team.

An outside opinion gives the Product Owner arguments for the conversation with the board that a team assessing its own work does not have.

Who is UX and product consulting for?

  • A Product Owner or head of product faces a decision and has nobody inside the company to talk it through with
  • The company has its own team, and that team lacks an outside view
  • A choice of technology, supplier or redesign direction is coming up

How it works

How does a consultation work step by step?

  1. 01

    The situation

The client describes the situation and sends the materials: a design, data or the questions that need answering.

  2. 02

    Conversation

We discuss the topic together, with the design or the data on screen.

  3. 03

    Concrete takeaways

We sum up the conversation with conclusions and a recommended next step. Result: an opinion to take back to the team.

A consultation ends with a clear opinion and a recommended direction, without the formalities of a big project. It is booked as a one-off or as a bundle of hours.

How much does a consultation cost?

PLN 250 net/h

The hourly rate is PLN 250 net. The choice is between a single consultation and a bundle of hours.

We start with a short call about the topic of the consultation, with no obligation. We reply within a few hours.

„We wholeheartedly recommend Squares. We have worked together for years and they are one of those partners you can rely on 100%. Among many different projects, they built our company website with an advanced integration with an external database. They do not stop at the code.”

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What is a UX consultation?

A UX consultation is a short, paid conversation with a practitioner that gives a second opinion on a product, a design or a technical decision. In the Consulting service the client describes the situation and sends materials, we discuss the topic with the design or the data on screen, and the call ends with conclusions and a recommended next step. No large project has to be set up.

How much does a UX consultation cost?

A UX consultation costs PLN 250 net per hour. The choice is between a single consultation and a bundle of hours billed at the same rate. A short introductory call to agree the topic carries no obligation. In ongoing work, the bundle of hours is used for subsequent decisions.

How soon can a UX consultation be arranged?

A consultation usually takes place within a few days of the enquiry. We reply to enquiries within a few hours, and before the call we ask for a description of the situation and materials: the design, data or questions. That way the conversation is about the decision from the first minute, not about gathering context.

What remains after a consultation?

A consultation leaves a clear opinion and a recommended direction. We sum up the call with conclusions and a next step that the Product Owner can take back to the team or the board. We say plainly what we would do in the situation and why. A prioritised report is produced in a UX/UI audit, and an interface design in UX/UI design.

When is a consultation enough, and when is a UX/UI audit needed?

A consultation is enough when one decision needs settling: the choice of technology, of a contractor or of a redesign direction. A UX/UI audit is needed when the whole product has to be assessed and the changes prioritised; it costs from PLN 4,500 net and takes from about a week. A Product workshop is the choice when the team cannot agree on scope.

What topics do UX, UI and technology consultations cover?

Consultations cover UX, UI and technical decisions in digital products. Typical topics are a design review before the build, the choice of technology or contractor, and the direction of a redesign. They are run by people who design and build products for B2B, SaaS and medtech companies, including NoHo Group, Inprogress and Daily Effect.

Is a consultation a one-off or ongoing?

Both options are available. A single consultation is enough for one decision, while a bundle of hours suits teams that come back with further questions. The rate in both cases is PLN 250 net per hour. When someone needs to own the product direction every week, the right service is a Fractional product lead.

How to prepare for a UX consultation?

A consultation needs only a description of the situation and the materials the decision concerns: the design, data or a list of questions. Sent in advance, they allow the topic to be discussed with a specific screen or figures in view. The whole team does not have to be involved; the person responsible for the decision can attend alone.

Are consultations held remotely, and can an NDA be signed?

Yes, we run consultations remotely, for companies in Poland and abroad. If the materials for the call are confidential, a light NDA is signed before the consultation, that is before the first paid hour. For a bundle of hours and further work, a framework agreement with fixed terms is available.
