Case study
Exam preparation mobile app: study plan, courses and tests
Preparing for the Polish school-leaving exam means many subjects, levels and scattered materials. We designed and built a Flutter mobile app for iOS and Android that turns them into a personal study plan with courses, quizzes and reminders.

We designed and built an app for Matura students: a personalised study plan, courses and lessons across subjects and levels, quizzes and tests, and session planning with reminders.

We turned scattered Matura materials into an app with a study plan tailored to each student.

Goals
01
A study plan for everyone
Tailor preparation to each student's subjects and level.
02
Materials at hand
Give quick access to courses, lessons, quizzes and tests in one app.
03
Organised study time

Process
What we delivered
A mobile app that guides Matura students from choosing subjects to their next tests.
- Wireframes - a clear structure that takes users step by step through each stage of preparation.
- Figma prototype - an interactive hi-fi prototype for UX/UI testing and gathering feedback.
- Courses and lessons - personalised learning paths for different Matura subjects.
- Topics and levels - materials for different levels, from which an individual study plan is built.
- Study planning - scheduled study sessions with reminders.
- Flutter app - one codebase for iOS and Android.
Challenge: bringing order to exam preparation
Preparing for the Matura means many subjects, different levels and a lot of material. Students need a way to organise it all.
The app was meant to change how students prepare for the exam. It had to be easy to use, flexible and tailored to each person's needs, with a personalised study plan and quick access to materials.
A personalised study plan and the materials for it were to be always at hand, on the phone.
Solution: a path from choosing subjects to tests
The wireframes shaped the app into a path: users move step by step from choosing subjects to detailed quizzes and tests.
Courses and lessons form personalised learning paths. Materials are organised by subject and level, so the study plan fits each student. Study session planning and reminders help organise the time left before the exam.
Prototype before code
An interactive hi-fi prototype in Figma let us test the UX/UI and gather feedback before we started programming. We made changes in the design, so a validated version went into Flutter development.

Results: one app for iOS and Android
The app runs on iOS and Android from a single Flutter codebase.
A shared codebase gives a consistent look and behaviour on both platforms, and changes are made in one place.
