Case study
An online ordering system for a restaurant with delivery zones
The restaurant wanted to take orders on its own website, with a delivery price that depends on the customer's address. We designed and built an online ordering system on WordPress and WooCommerce: a clear menu, a short checkout and a map of delivery zones using the Google API.

For a restaurant, we designed and launched an online ordering system on WordPress and WooCommerce: a clear menu, a simplified checkout and a delivery zone map built on the Google API that calculates the delivery cost to the customer's address on its own.

What we delivered
A restaurant shop that takes customers from the menu to a paid order with delivery already priced.
- Menu - a clear presentation of dishes that leads easily to the basket.
- Checkout - an ordering process optimised for user convenience.
- Delivery zone map - a Google API integration that shows the area the restaurant serves.
- Delivery pricing - a dedicated mechanism that calculates delivery cost from zone and distance.
- Back office - WordPress and WooCommerce for managing orders, deliveries and prices.

Solution: a clear menu and a short checkout
A simple, clear interface: the menu is easy to read and the checkout is cut down so an order can be placed quickly.
WordPress and WooCommerce
We built the platform on WordPress and WooCommerce. They provide a stable foundation and easy management, while allowing the deep customisation and integrations the restaurant's specific requirements called for.

Delivery zones and a delivery cost calculated per address
We connected the system to the Google API to show delivery zones on a map. Customers can check straight away whether their address is within the area the restaurant serves.
A dedicated mechanism based on zones and distance calculates the delivery cost. The price is set automatically according to the customer's location, with separate rates for each zone.
Customers see the delivery price before they order, and the restaurant doesn't have to calculate it by hand.
