NoHo Partners: a design system for four restaurant brands

Każda marka zachowała własny charakter, a wszystkie korzystają z tych samych wzorców.

How we designed one system for four brands, each keeping its own character.
Goals
01
A shared foundation for four brands
Replace four separate templates with one coherent design system that every site is built on.
02
A distinct character for each brand
Keep the differences between a trattoria, a rooftop, a gin bar and a burger joint: the same patterns, a different visual world.
03
Consistency across venues
Organise how venues, menus and bookings are presented so they work the same way in every brand and every city.
Process
Four brands, one system
Scrolling or clicking a brand shows its site. Each has its own identity, with the same mechanics underneath.
What we delivered
Workshops, wireframes, a design system and the design of four sites.
- Online workshops - a shared scope and the needs of all four brands.
- Wireframes - a shared structure and patterns for every brand.
- Design system - components, rules and patterns shared by four brands.
- Four identities - four different visual worlds on one system.
- Development - four sites built on shared components.
Challenge: four separate templates to maintain
NoHo Partners Denmark is the Danish arm of the Helsinki-listed NoHo Partners group: around 30 restaurants under several brands, each with venues in different cities.
Every brand lived on its own site. Four separate templates meant four times the maintenance: the same fix, change or new venue had to be repeated for each brand. Presentation drifted from venue to venue, and every new brand or location started practically from scratch.
For an operator that grows by opening venues and through acquisitions, this is not an aesthetic problem. It is speed and maintenance cost, both growing with every new brand.
Solution: one design system for four brands
One design system instead of four templates
Instead of four separate sites, we designed one system of components and patterns shared by all brands. Each brand's identity (colours, typography, photography) sits on top, so the brands differ in their visual layer while the structure stays the same.
Different brands, the same patterns
Each brand has a different character: an Italian trattoria, a seasonal rooftop, a gin bar and a burger joint. We designed so that these differences show from the first screen, while menus, venues and bookings work the same way in every brand.
Results: four sites on shared components
Four sites on one design system, each with its own brand identity.
Luca, Camping, The Bird and Cocks & Cows use the same components and patterns. Changes to the system reach every brand at once, and the next brand can be built on a ready foundation.
