Case study

Inprogress: UX audit of an IT training company website

Inprogress, an IT training company, wanted to know how its website supports sales and where to start improving it. We ran a UX audit covering conversion, sales funnels, performance, accessibility and information architecture, with an impact rating and priority for every issue.

We carried out a UX audit of the website of one of Poland's leading IT training companies. We combined analytics data, session recordings, performance tests and a WCAG accessibility assessment, and brought the findings together in a report in which every issue has a description, an impact rating and an implementation priority.

What we delivered

A report split into thematic sections that works as an improvement roadmap.

  • Conversion analysis - conversion paths, sales funnels and engagement metrics based on Google Analytics and Hotjar.
  • Insights from session recordings - behaviour patterns, points of frustration and unexpected navigation paths.
  • Performance test results - loading speed, interface responsiveness and visual stability according to PageSpeed Insights and Core Web Vitals.
  • Accessibility assessment - barriers in contrast, keyboard use, screen reader compatibility and semantic structure, described with proposals for removing them.
  • Prioritised list of issues - for each issue, a description, impact rating, visual documentation and a specific recommended fix.
  • Technical and strategic recommendations - quick fixes and long-term actions.

„We wholeheartedly recommend Squares. We have worked together for years and they are one of those partners you can rely on 100%. Among many different projects, they built our company website with an advanced integration with an external database. They do not stop at the code.”

Challenge: a website that has to support training sales

Inprogress is one of Poland's leading IT training companies. The audit had to cover not only how easy the site is to use, but also how well it supports sales: conversion rates and sales funnels.

Alongside user behaviour, we examined the information architecture, site performance and accessibility for people using different tools, including screen readers and keyboard-only navigation. Findings from so many areas had to be organised so the team knew where to start.

The result had to be practical: a list of changes that could be made right away, and those that need longer work.

Analysis: data, session recordings, performance and WCAG

Quantitative data showed where problems occur, and session recordings helped us understand why.

Using Google Analytics and Hotjar, we analysed conversion paths, engagement metrics and problem points. Session recordings let us observe real interactions with the site and revealed behaviour patterns, points of frustration and unexpected navigation paths.

Performance and accessibility

Tests in Google PageSpeed Insights and Core Web Vitals assessed the site's loading speed, interface responsiveness and visual stability. We checked accessibility against the WCAG guidelines: colour contrast, keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility and correct semantic structure. We described each barrier together with a proposal for removing it.

Results: a prioritised report, not a list of remarks

Inprogress received a report in which every issue has a description, an impact rating, visual documentation and a recommended fix with an assigned priority.

Thanks to the priorities, the report works as a roadmap: the team can start with quick fixes and plan long-term actions. It also provides a basis for redesigning the site's functionality.
