Case study
Luca: a pizzeria website for three restaurant concepts
Luca is a pizzeria nominated five times among the best in Europe, with three restaurant concepts of different character. We designed and built the pizzeria website on Headless CMS WordPress and Next.js, where the team updates the menu and seasonal specials themselves.
restaurant concepts under one brand
nominations among Europe's best pizzerias
place in the 50 Top Pizza Europe Awards 2020
We designed and built a website for Luca that brings together Pizzeria Luca, Trattoria Luca and Luca Piccolo. It puts the pizzeria's places in European rankings front and centre, and the restaurant team updates the menu and seasonal specials themselves.

02
Three concepts, one brand
Bring the Pizzeria, the Trattoria and Luca Piccolo together under one brand without blurring the differences between them.
03
A menu that keeps up with the kitchen
Give the restaurant team a CMS for day-to-day menu changes and seasonal specials.
Process

What we delivered
A website for Luca's three restaurants in Denmark, from analysis to launch.
- Design system - a style and components built on the brand's Italian character.
- Three concepts presented - a dedicated space for Pizzeria Luca, Trattoria Luca and Luca Piccolo, with their menus and interiors.
- Awards on the site - nominations and places in the 50 Top Pizza Europe rankings shown as part of the brand story.
- Menu and seasonal specials - edited by the restaurant team in a headless WordPress CMS.
- Next.js front end - a site connected to the content CMS, so menu updates go live smoothly.
Challenge: three concepts and a place in pizzeria rankings
Luca is a pizzeria nominated five times among the best in Europe. It placed 9th in the 50 Top Pizza Europe Awards 2020, and 23rd in the latest ranking.
Three concepts operate under the Luca brand in Denmark: Pizzeria Luca, Trattoria Luca and Luca Piccolo. Each has a different character, a different menu and a different interior. The website had to bring them together under one strong brand while letting each keep its own identity.
A restaurant with rankings like these needs a website that shows it from the very first screen.

Solution: a shared brand and a place for each restaurant
The design system captures Luca's Italian atmosphere, and the ranking awards are highlighted as part of the brand story.
The Pizzeria, the Trattoria and Luca Piccolo each have their own space on the site, with their own menu and character. A shared brand and the same components tie them together. The foundation is the design system built for all NoHo Partners brands.
A menu edited in the CMS
Content lives in a headless WordPress CMS, and the front end runs on Next.js. The restaurant team changes the menu and adds seasonal specials themselves, without waiting for a developer.

Results: one site for the three Luca restaurants
Luca's three restaurants share one website that shows both the common brand and the differences between the venues.
The pizzeria's awards are highlighted on the site, and the team updates the menu and seasonal specials in the CMS on its own.
