Development

A design must not end as a file in Figma

A design nobody builds as intended is a cost without a product. We build the front end, web and mobile apps, support go-live, and lead delivery ourselves, with engineers we know well.

When is it worth outsourcing development?

The team has a finished design and needs it built without losing quality.

Or the company is looking for a single partner to take the product from design to a working release.

In both cases the Product Owner answers to the management board for the delivery budget, so they need an agreed scope, acceptance criteria and a decision after each stage.

Who is development with Squares for?

  • The design is finished and the in-house team has no capacity to build it
  • Design and delivery are meant to stay in one pair of hands, from the first screen to a working release
  • A Product Owner or head of development is responsible for a product that will need developing and maintaining after launch
  • A medtech or health product, where accessibility and stability matter

How it works

How does development work step by step?

  1. 01

    Preparation

We agree the scope, the order of work and the acceptance criteria. The client's team knows what will be built in the first stage and what is left for later ones.

  2. 02

    Short cycles

We build in short cycles and end each one with a review of a working part of the product. Changes in priorities are introduced between cycles.

  3. 03

    Testing and quality control

We test every part before it reaches users and compare it against the design.

  4. 04

    Staged releases

We release the product in stages, so the first features are live before the project ends and the team can gather user feedback early.

The result is a working, launched product, built to the design and ready to be developed further and maintained.

How much does digital product development cost?

from PLN 10,000 net

Development starts from PLN 10,000 net. Depending on scope, we either quote a fixed project price or bill for time worked (Time & Material). The model is agreed at the start.

The call about scope and the initial development estimate are non-binding. We work in stages, with a decision after each step. We write back within a few hours.

„We wholeheartedly recommend Squares. We have worked together for years and they are one of those partners you can rely on 100%. Among many different projects, they built our company website with an advanced integration with an external database. They do not stop at the code.”

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How much does app development cost and how is it billed?

Development starts from PLN 10,000 net. There are two billing models: a fixed project price, or time worked (Time & Material) at PLN 250 net per hour. The model that fits the scope is agreed at the start, after a call about scope and an initial development estimate.

How much does it cost to build a mobile app?

The cost of a mobile app depends on the scope of the first version, so the estimate starts with a conversation about its features. Development at Squares starts from PLN 10,000 net. We build mobile apps in Flutter: the Daily Effect training and diet app was built in it and we have been developing it since 2023.

What does development of a digital product include?

Development covers building the frontend, web and mobile apps, and support at launch. The work has four stages: preparing the scope and acceptance criteria, building in short cycles, testing with a check against the design, and releasing the product in stages. The result is a working product, built to the design and ready to be developed further.

Who builds the product: the Squares team or partners?

We lead and supervise delivery ourselves, from agreeing the scope to acceptance. The code is written by engineers from a trusted team we work with on delivery projects. When the design was created at Squares, the same team leads delivery, so design decisions are not lost on the way to code.

How long does app development take?

The timeline depends on scope and is known after the preparation stage, in which we agree the scope, the order of work and the acceptance criteria. The product is released in stages, so the first features work before the project ends and the team collects user feedback early. Changes of priority are made between cycles.

Can a design prepared by another team be built?

Yes. We build both designs created at Squares and finished designs the client's own team has no capacity to build. In the preparation stage we agree the scope, the order of work and the acceptance criteria, and every built part is compared with the design before it reaches users. The billing model is agreed at the start.

How is Development different from Maintenance & SLA?

Development builds and launches the product; Maintenance & SLA keeps it running afterwards. Development is a project with a scope, stages and acceptance of a working version. Maintenance & SLA starts after that and covers monitoring, backups, fixes and a guaranteed response time, billed as a fixed monthly fee.

Can development be run remotely, including for a company outside Poland?

Yes. We run development remotely, for teams in Poland and abroad. For the Danish operator NoHo Group we designed and built the websites of four restaurant brands on shared components. Each cycle ends with a review of a working part of the product, so the client's team sees progress without on-site meetings.

Can an NDA be signed before the development estimate?

Yes. A light NDA is signed before the detailed conversation, before the team hands over the design, documentation or repository access. For development split into stages a framework agreement works well: it sets the fixed terms, and each stage is ordered separately, with a decision after every one.

What happens to the product after launch?

After go-live the product moves to Optimisation, the last stage of the process: Diagnosis, Design, Delivery, Optimisation. Maintenance & SLA keeps it running, and data-led development continues in Analytics & performance and UX monitoring & optimisation. We built the air purifier ranking platform and have been developing it this way since 2022.
